WHO WE ARE
One Voice was established in 2012, after our founder Josh Wilkins experienced some circumstances in the Melbourne CBD that changed his life forever.
After spending 6 months (by choice) on the streets of Melbourne, to see what people experiencing homelessness went through on a daily basis he identified 2 concerns.
- The obvious, the need for secure accomodation and
- The hidden, access to a hot shower
In 2014 One Voice launched their first Mobile Shower Trailer (a pilot in the Melbourne CBD) with great success the following journey transpired.
In 2015 with the help of ALDI Australia and Ventura Bus Lines One Voice built the worlds first, fully self contained Mobile Shower Bus, with on-board water tanks and instant hot water.
In 2016 we replicated this model in NSW with the help of FACS and NSW Transport.
In 2017 we built our first shower and laundry van, today this operates as our pilot vehicle that we take around to identify a need (minus the laundry services).
In 2018 we built our first Mobile Shower Truck, with the same on-board solutions as the bus but the difference was, anyone with a car licence to drive the vehicle.
Today (2021) we have several services in the main capital cities of Australia that have helped restore dignity to over 250,000 people who experience homelessness.
In January 2017, One Voice acquired a property in the Macedon Ranges VIC and we began our next initiative ‘Elevate’ – a place where young people can achieve their dreams.
We will continue to develop this property and expand further into more social enterprise projects that will provide training and support with the following iniatives:
The One Voice Food Truck
One Voice Rustik Creations (Woodwork/Furniture)
One Voice Produce for Purpose (Biltong and Fresh Produce)
We encourage you to become a part of the journey and join your Voice with One Voice today…
