One Voice was established in 2012 after our founder Josh Wilkins spent 6 months on the streets of Melbourne (by choice) to experience what homeless people did on a daily basis and identify what he could do to help in a practical manner, in this time Josh identified two concerns;
The obvious, the need for safe secure accomodation and
The hidden, access to a hot shower
Our Mobile Shower Journey
2014
One Voice launched their first Mobile Shower Trailer (a pilot in the Melbourne CBD) with great success the following journey transpired.
2015
In 2015 with the help of ALDI Australia and Ventura Bus Lines One Voice built the worlds first, fully self contained Mobile Shower Bus, with on-board water tanks and instant hot water.
2016
In 2016 One Voice was approached by FACS (Family & Community Services) in NSW and asked to replicate the Mobile Shower Bus we had launched in Melbourne. This service was funded by FACS, ALDI Australia and NSW Transport with a donation of a bus.
2017
In 2017 One Voice built another World First, a Mobile Shower and Laundry Van. Today this operates as our pilot vehicle that we take around to identify a need for shower services in regional areas.
2018
In 2018 One Voice built our first Mobile Shower Truck, with the same on-board solutions as the bus (solar powered with instantaneous hot water) but the difference was, it could be driven with a car licence.
TODAY 2023
One Voice has several services in operation around Australia. We have helped restore dignity to over 250,000 people who experience homelessness Nationally.
Together we can be the change in the lives of many!
